Whirlpool Corporation ha sido nombrada una de las 100 mejores Corporate Citizens por la revista Chief Responsability Officer (CRO). Es la octava vez que la empresa entra en la lista, ocupando este año el número 51 del ranking.

Los 100 mejores Corporate Citizens de la revista CRO es la única lista que tiene una base de datos a disposición del público. Esta se fundamenta sobre el índice Russell 1000 sobre las empresas que desempeñan su labor en siete áreas fundamentales: medio ambiente, cambio climático, derechos humanos, filantropía, relaciones laborales, financieras y de gobierno.

Publicada por primera vez en el año 2000 por la revista Business Ethics, la lista de los 100 mejores Corporate Citizens de la revista CRO, es la clasificación más reconocida en Responsabilidad Corporativa del ranking de empresas Russell 1000.

Paralelamente, Whirlpool ha sido nombrada, por la Revista Fortune, una de las Empresas Más Admiradas en la industria electrónica. La empresa ha quedado en sexto lugar, un dato muy positivo respecto al año pasado en el que quedó en el onceavo puesto. La revista Fortune se basó para el nombramiento en la Responsabilidad Social Corporativa, la Calidad en Categorías de Dirección y el Empleo de Activo Corporativo.
