Tarragona será la sede de la mayor nueva tienda de Ikea

El gigante del mueble sueco ha pedido la licencia de obras al ayuntamiento y tiene previsto inaugurar el nuevo establecimiento en 2018.

Ikea presentó el pasado 2 de enero la solicitud para que el Ayuntamiento le conceda la licencia de obras para poder abrir su primera tienda en Catalunya fuera del área metropolitana de Barcelona, según informa el Diario de Tarragona. El establecimiento estará ubicado junto a la futura zona deportiva del Anillo Mediterráneo y un nuevo barrio en el que vivirán unas 4.000 personas. Éste será cuarto equipamiento en Cataluña de la compañía, tras los de Badalona, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat y Sabadell, y el número 18 en España.

De los documentos presentado por la firma, consultados por el medio antes mencionado, se puede deducir que la inversión total puede llegar a los 45 millones de euros, y que el edificio tendrá planta baja, un nivel superior y una cubierta, con una altura de 13,90 m. Se construirá en una finca de 66.000 m2, contará con 1.168 plazas de aparcamiento al aire libre, y la superficie edificada será de 26.194 m2, de los cuales 19.001 se destinarán a uso comercial. Se trata de la tienda de mayores dimensiones de las que la empresa abrirá próximamente en nuestro país.

Las obras podrían empezar a mediados de año, de modo que Ikea pueda cumplir el objetivo que se ha marcado: abrir en agosto de 2018, justo después de la celebración de los Juegos del Mediterráneo.
