Silestone, en el MoMA de Nueva York

Silestone colabora con el MoMA en la exposición Counter Space: Diseño y cocina moderna, que explora la transformación de la cocina a lo largo del siglo XX. Se puede ver hasta el próximo 14 de marzo de 2011.

Por primera vez, la marca de Grupo Cosentino, está presente en el MoMA a través de esta exhibición que ofrece una fascinante visión de la arquitectura moderna desde el interior al exterior, gracias al proceso evolutivo de la cocina durante el siglo XX.

La exposición está comisionada por el Departamento de Arquitectura y Diseño, y se podrá visitar hasta el próximo 14 de marzo de 2011. Para Santiago Alfonso, Director de Marketing y Comunicación de Grupo Cosentino, es un honor para nuestra compañía asociarnos a una entidad tan prestigiosa como el MoMA, promoviendo esta muestra que simboliza perfectamente lo que es Silestone: evolución continua. Hoy en día somos sinónimo de tendencia y diseño, y compartimos por completo la idea de la gran relevancia y el rol fundamental que juega en la actualidad el espacio de la cocina en los hogares de todo el mundo.

El pasado lunes, la multinacional española celebró una recepción exclusiva a la que acudieron invitados más de 200 diseñadores de interiores, arquitectos, fabricantes de cocina y otros prescriptores en el ámbito del diseño. El evento contó con la participación de Eduardo Martínez-Cosentino, Director Comercial de Grupo Cosentino; Juliet Kinchin, comisaria de la exhibición y miembro del Departamento de Arquitectura y Diseño del MoMA, y Maggie Cohen, Presidenta del American Society of Interior Designers (ASID NY Metro).

Counter Space muestra como, desde los años veinte del pasado siglo, las cocinas han comunicado conceptos del diseño funcional contemporáneo a la sociedad de masas en todo el mundo. Anteriormente oculta a la vista del público en sótanos o zonas anexas a la casa, la cocina se convirtió poco a poco en la plataforma del pensamiento moderno dentro de la esfera del hogar, un campo de pruebas de nuevos materiales y tecnologías.

Esta exposición es una apuesta arriesgada y pionera, ya que escapa a las habituales propuestas que oferta el MoMA. Considerando que la cocina ha jugado un rol fundamental en los actuales estilos de vida, esta muestra es relevante para todo el mundo, desde diseñadores hasta consumidores particulares.
