The manufacturer of kitchen furniture Santos has achieved PEFC certification, which shows its commitment to the environment and adds to its three certifications in sustainability.
Santos has obtained PEFC certification, which recognizes a company that uses controlled felling timber. This certification ensures that the raw material used in the manufacture of kitchens Santos comes from sustainably managed forests.
The products from the forest (wood, paper, resins, etc.) PEFC certified guarantees to consumers that the multiple functions of these forests are protected for present and future. By choosing PEFC, consumers can help combat illegal logging and promote the main functions of forest resources.
PEFC is the world@¬#s largest forest certification organization. An international non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management, the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification is the certification system of choice for small forest owners.
Thus, Santos reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development and strengthens its management policy. Santos’ Management Policy considers all the necessary activities to ensure compliance throughout the whole process with its clients@¬# requirements, as well as legal requirements related to environmental quality, worker@¬#s health and safety regulations.
Santos had already three certifications in sustainability: EN ISO 9001, EN ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. Santos becomes the first manufacturer of kitchen furniture in Spain which have these four certifications.
