Proyectos domésticos de reducción de emisiones de CO2 en España

Los proyectos domésticos podrían lograr que España llegara a reducir más de 10 millones de toneladas de CO2 al año. Así lo asegura un estudio realizado por el Club de Excelencia en Sostenibilidad, fundado por BSH España.

El documento, que lleva por título Estudio para impulsar proyectos domésticos de reducción de emisiones de CO2 en España, fue presentado el pasado jueves en un acto en el que José Longás, Consejero Delegado de BSH Electrodomésticos España, estuvo presente como Presidente de la Comisión de Medio Ambiente del Club de Excelencia en Sostenibilidad, del que BSH Electrodomésticos España es fundadora.

En el informe se recuerda que, según el II Plan Nacional de Asignación 2008-2012, España necesita comprar créditos de carbono para cumplir con Kioto por valor de 290 millones de toneladas de CO2, de las cuales 160 corresponden a los sectores difusos.

Por este motivo, se apuesta por el sistema de proyectos domésticos, un mecanismo para la expedición de derechos de emisión o créditos en relación con proyectos ubicados en España para reducir emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero (GEI) procedentes de actividades que no están sujetas al régimen de comercio de derechos de emisión.

En el documento también se aboga por incentivar el desarrollo de proyectos de reducción de las emisiones de gases GEI en sectores difusos, responsables de más del 55% de las emisiones en España. Según los autores del estudio, los sectores con más potencial para desarrollar este tipo de proyectos son los de rehabilitación y eficiencia energética en edificios, residuos, transporte y agricultura dada su mayor generación de empleo y su contribución al crecimiento del PIB.
