La Certificación Forestal y la Cadena de Custodia FSC, herramientas ofrecidas por AENOR, respaldan ante empresas y usuarios una gestión responsable de los bosques.

AENOR ofrece a las empresas la herramienta de la Certificación Forestal y la Cadena de Custodia FSC. La primera garantiza que la gestión de los montes es sostenible económica, medioambiental y socialmente, y la segunda que los productos forestales proceden de bosques gestionados de manera responsable.

Estas certificaciones implican el seguimiento de los productos forestales (madera, papel, corcho, corteza o resinas, entre otros) durante las distintas fases del proceso productivo y su comercialización final.

El FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) es una organización internacional sin ánimo de lucro que nació con el objetivo de crear un sello para garantizar la credibilidad de la Certificación Forestal y la Cadena de Custodia a través de unos estándares de aplicación global. AENOR está acreditada por ASI (Accreditation Services Internacional) como entidad para la certificación de Cadena de Custodia FSC, con lo que puede emitir un certificado FSC a aquellas entidades que cumplan los requisitos establecidos.

La certificación de la Cadena de Custodia permite a las empresas satisfacer la crecienta de productos forestales certificados, facilitar la apertura a nuevos mercados, y asegura a los clientes que los productos forestales que consumen tienen una procedencia totalmente sostenible.
