Gracias al plan de actuación del convenio Inserta que Leroy Merlin mantiene con Fundación ONCE, la cadena contratará a 45 personas con discapacidad durante la campaña navideña.

Leroy Merlin contratará a 45 personas con discapacidad  para la  próxima campaña de Navidad, en en las doce tiendas repartidas por la Comunidad de Madrid,  Castilla y León  y Toledo. El director regional Zona Centro de Leroy Merlín, José Ramón Abad, y la secretaria y directora general de Inserta Empleo, Virginia Carcedo, firmaron ayer en Madrid un plan de actuación en el marco del convenio Inserta que mantienen desde 2013, que posibilitará esta acción.

Según ha explicado Abad, gracias al plan firmado, Daremos la oportunidad a un colectivo en el que llevamos años trabajando y, además, estas personas, con su trabajo y experiencia, nos ayudarán a eliminar barreras y a devolver a la sociedad lo que ésta nos da.

Por su parte, Virginia Carcedo ha asegurado que para Inserta es muy importante este proyecto porque fija una senda por la que seguir transitando. Se harán más inclusivas las Navidades incorporando personas con discapacidad en campañas que para las empresas de este sector son estratégicas. No hay mejor entrevista que una persona con discapacidad trabajando al mismo nivel que sus compañeros en una campaña tan señalada como la navideña.

La firma se ha celebrado en la nueva tienda Leroy Merlín Madrid Barajas, diseñada bajo los principios de diseño universal. Así, cuenta con bucles magnéticos para personas sordas, indicaciones en braille para ciegos y mostradores a diferentes alturas para que las personas en silla de ruedas puedan acceder a la información de forma sencilla.

Leroy Merlin firmó un convenio Inserta con Fundación Once en 2013, que contemplaba la contratación de treinta personas con discapacidad en el plazo de cuatro años. Los propósitos iniciales se han superado ampliamente ya que, a fecha de hoy, más de setenta personas con discapacidad han conseguido una oportunidad de empleo en la compañía.

Este convenio se enmarca en los programas operativos de Empleo Juvenil y Economía Social (POEJ) y de Inclusión Social y Economía Social (Poises), que está desarrollando Fundación ONCE a través de Inserta, con la cofinanciación del Fondo Social Europeo, y que pretenden incrementar la formación y el empleo de las personas con discapacidad.
