Le Baou, una isla de cocina con forma de roca en Hi-Macs

La gran isla denominada Le Baou (roca en provenzal), es un monolito de Hi-Macs Crystal Beige que parece tallado de una sola pieza y contrasta con el mural de madera en segundo plano.

Le Baou lberga discretamente la placa de inducción, el lavavajillas y el fregadero, mientras que los demás electrodomésticos quedan disimulados dentro de los armarios hasta el techo de detrás. Para no desnaturalizar la esmerada estética de la isla, se ha evitado instalar tiradores, incorporando unos cajones con mecanismos eléctricos para una máxima comodidad de uso.

La fabricación de la isla ha exigido una gran precisión y maestría técnica, dado que todas las facetas de sus caras están inclinadas. Ha habido que cortar cada borde con un ángulo distinto, para que las facetas encajaran entre sí a la perfección. Las excepcionales propiedades de Hi-Macs han contribuido ampliamente a esta creación, como reconoce la diseñadora, Charlotte Raynaud, residente en Aix-en-Provence: Hi-Macs es un material que proporciona libertad en cuanto a la forma y que aporta posibilidades creativas que otros materiales no ofrecen.
