Formica Forever: un siglo de color, cultura y diseño

Formica Forever es un libro conmemorativo que muestra el nacimiento y la expansión de la marca Formica y con el cual Formica Group celebra su 100 aniversario.

Formica Group celebra un siglo de diseño global con Formica Forever, un libro conmemorativo que captura la evolución de la compañía a lo largo de los últimos 100 años, en los que ha sido testigo de importantes cambios culturales, incertidumbres económicas varias, la proliferación de infinitas tendencias y el crecimiento global.

Diseñado por Abbott Miller, de la firma Pentagram, el libro de 408 páginas contiene más de 400 imágenes y fue inspirado en un muestrario de laminados de la marca Formica de la década de 1960. El libro se publica en colaboración con Metropolis Books y estará disponible a principios de agosto en librerías de todo el mundo y en Internet.

El volumen hace un recorrido por 100 años de impacto visual, incluidos anuncios publicitarios, logotipos y muestrarios de producto organizados por colores. También contiene tres ensayos en los que destacados autores detallan la evolución de Formica Group a lo largo del último siglo:  Expansión comercial global (escrito por Phil Patton), Legado de diseño modernista (escrito por Alexandra Lange) e Impacto cultural (escrito por Peter York). Además, incluye pasajes literarios que hacen referencia a la marca Formica, fiel reflejo de su importancia en la cultura popular, y un apéndice con traducciones de todos los textos al  español, francés, finlandés, tailandés y mandarín simplificado y tradicional.
