Formica, en Solar Decathlon

Formica Group ha tomado parte en la última edición del prestigioso concurso Solar Decathlon Europe a través del proyecto Solarkit, una casa solar desarrollada por la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de la Universidad de Sevilla.

Madrid ha acogido entre los días 17 y el 27 junio Solar Decathlon, una villa solar con 17 proyectos finalistas elegidos entre 120 proyectos presentados a concurso por diferentes universidades de España, Alemania, Reino Unido, Francia, Finlandia, Estados Unidos y China.

Dentro de esta villa se encuentra el proyecto Solarkit, en el que participa Formica Group, que ya contaba con una experiencia previa en el concurso habiendo tomado parte en la segunda edición, celebrada en Washington en 2005, de la mano de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid y el proyecto Magic Box.

Solarkit es una vivienda desmontable, energéticamente autosuficiente, sin emisiones de CO2, y adaptable a distintas localizaciones y situaciones. La fachada de la vivienda solar está realizada en base a paneles Formica Compact Exterior y su interior incorpora así mismo laminado de alta presión (HPL) Formica y Formica Compact.

La extrema resistencia y durabilidad del laminado Formica Compact Exterior le hacen especialmente adecuado para el cerramiento de fachadas. Por su naturaleza no porosa, resiste la humedad y los agentes atmosféricos y no requiere mantenimiento. Además, la limpieza de posibles graffitis se realiza de manera sencilla y eficaz. Otros aspectos destacables son su resistencia al fuego, clasificación según UNE-EN 13501-1:2002 B-s1,d0 en cumplimiento del Código Técnico de la Edificación (CTE), y su carácter ecológico, al ser fácilmente reutilizable.
