Formica consigue la cadena de custodia

Forest Stewardship Council ha otorgado certificación internacional Cadena de Custodia (COC-Chain of Custody) a las plantas de producción y centros de distribución europeos de Formica Group.

Esta certificación garantiza que los materiales utilizados en la producción de los laminados de alta presión (HPL) Formica y artículos adheridos de madera provienen de fuentes con gestión sostenible.

La Cadena de Custodia controla materiales certificados por FSC a lo largo del proceso de producción, incluyendo todas las etapas sucesivas de procesamiento, transformación, manufactura y distribución. 

Según Gavin Todd, Gerente de Desarrollo de Sostenibilidad de Formica Group, "la certificación de Cadena de Custodia es una garantía de que todos los materiales utilizados en nuestros laminados de alta presión provienen de bosques que cumplen con las más estrictas normas ambientales, sociales y económicas.  Esta práctica  se encuadra en el compromiso en materia ambiental de Formica Group y también refuerza las iniciativas en este campo de nuestros clientes".

La certificación Cadena de Custodia de FSC es reconocida por el Sistema de Calificación de LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) para el diseño ecológico. La certificación puede contribuir para el Crédito 7 de MR: Madera Certificada en proyectos comerciales dentro del método de evaluación LEED, y contribuir para puntos dentro de la sección de materiales del método de evaluación BREEAM.
