Fallece Santiago García, presidente de Finsa

Santiago García Baliña, presidente del Consejo de Administración y Consejero Delegado de Financiera Maderera S.A. (Finsa), falleció el pasado 5 de marzo a consecuencia de un infarto.

Nacido en Ames (La Coruña) en 1941, desarrolló junto a sus tíos y hermanos su carrera profesional en esta empresa que fundó su padre y participó de manera activa en su desarrollo y expansión dentro del sector del aserrado y de la producción de madera industrial.

Santiago García Baliña sucedió a su hermano Manuel (fallecido el año pasado) en la presidencia de Finsa, fundada por Manuel García Cambón en 1931.

La firma destacó que su figura quedará ligada para siempre a la historia forestal de Galicia y su mensaje pervivirá entre todos los trabajadores de Finsa: máxima exigencia personal, ilusión, dedicación, calidad y gusto por las cosas bien hechas.

ERE en Finsa Gandía
El fallecimiento ocurre un mes después de que la Dirección y Comité de Finsa Gandía (antiguo Faus Group) firmara un ERE con el consecuente despido de 325 trabajadores de una plantilla de 857 empleados.

Según declaró a Efe el presidente del comité de empresa, Josep Albors, las condiciones del ERE fueron sometidas a referéndum de la plantilla y un 98% de ésta mostró su acuerdo con las últimas condiciones negociadas.

Los trabajadores recibirán un pago 35 días de salario por año trabajado y además, según en plan de viabilidad presentado por el grupo, se buscará la recolocación de los afectados.
