Electrolux nombra a Stefano Marzano Chief Design Officer

Marzano liderará esta nueva función directiva, agrupando todas las competencias de diseño del grupo.

El año pasado, Electrolux instituyó las nuevas funciones de Chief Technology Officer y Chief Marketing Officer. Unidas a este nombramiento, la compañía ha terminado de definir una estructura formal a  la cual se refiere como su “Triángulo de Innovación”. Se trata de conseguir una sinergia de I + D, marketing y funciones de diseño en todo el proceso de creación con un enfoque más claro sobre los clientes y consumidores.

Nacido en 1950, Stefano Marzano, nuevo Chief Design Officer de Electrolux, reportará al CEO y será miembro de la cúpula directiva. Henrik Otto, Vicepresidente Senior de diseño global, permanecerá en su actual puesto y reportará a Marzano. Este nombramiento tiene vigencia inmediata.

Cuenta con una larga trayectoria en Philips, compañía en la que estuvo 20 años ejerciendo la función de jefe de diseño. Hasta 1998 fue profesor en la Domus Academy de Milán. Desde 1999 a 2001 fue profesor visitante del Politécnico de dicha ciudad italiana.

Marzano es, además, autor y editor de varios libros de diseño y un orador habitual en conferencias sobre diseño internacional, negocio e innovación. Miembro del Consejo Europeo de Liderazgo en Diseño (European Design Leadership)  y asesor de escuelas de diseño de todo el mundo, cuenta con doctorados honoríficos en diseño de la Universidad Sapienza de Roma y la Universidad Politécnica de Hong Kong. En 2005, BusinessWeek le nombró uno de los cuatro mejores líderes innovadores del mundo. Manzano tiene un doctorado en arquitectura del Politécnico de Milán.
