La firma ha sido reconocida por su gama Global Design con nada menos que 12 premios en el certamen If, más conocidos como «Los Óscar» del diseño, ante más de 2.700 productos participantes.

La gran apuesta de Electrolux por el diseño, potenciada aún más desde la puesta en marcha de su nueva filosofía "Thinking of You", está recogiendo sus frutos. La firma ha sido reconocida por su gama Global Design con 12 premios en el certamen If, o lo que es lo mismo, "Los Óscar del Diseño". Entre más de 2.770 productos participantes de 35 países, 10 electrodomésticos de las divisiones de Electrolux Major Appliances y 2 de Floor Care Europa han conseguido estos galardones.

Paralelamente, como muestra del interés que en Electrolux suscita el diseño, la firma ha abierto un nuevo centro de diseño en Shanghai. El propósito de este espacio, ideado por el estudio italiano de arquitectura de Alejandro Ruiz y Christian Hartmann, es crear un puente de conexión e inspiración mutua entre diseñadores de China y Europa. No es un show-room de producto, sino un punto de encuentro de diseñadores y arquitectos, así como un lugar de celebración de exposiciones, eventos y seminarios sobre diseño interior, arquitectura, cocina, innovación y sostenibilidad en el diseño del hogar.

Además, el centro acogerá la primera filial fuera de Italia de la Librería del Diseño de Milán, una biblioteca especializada para diseñadores y arquitectos. A través de ella, los profesionales podrán tener acceso a más de 1.500 libros, revistas, anuarios, publicaciones internacionales, catálogos, informes de mercado y vídeos.

El acto de inauguración del nuevo centro de diseño de Electrolux en Shanghai contó con la presencia de Hans Stráberg, presidente y consejero delegado del Grupo Electrolux, y Henrik Otto, director de diseño. También asistieron Paolo Boffi, fundador de Cocinas & Baños Boffi, y Valerio Castelli, diseñador y fundador de la Librería del Diseño de Milán, Italia.
