El Corte Inglés impulsará su internacionalización

La compra del 10% de El Corte Inglés por un fondo de Qatar, por 1.000 millones de euros, ayudará a su internacionalización.

Un inversor catarí ha firmado un acuerdo para hacerse con el 10% de El Corte Inglés por mil millones de euros, lo que le asegurará un puesto en el consejo de administración de la cadena.

Según recoge la prensa nacional, la operación se ha realizado mediante un sistema convertible en acciones en tres años y, citando al presidente de los grandes almacenes, Dimas Gimeno, servirá para acompañar la expansión de la cadena, preferentemente a nivel europeo y en Latinoamérica. A nivel internacional, El Corte Inglés sólo tiene presencia en Portugal.

El nuevo inversor catarí, presente en el accionariado de El Corte Inglés, está vinculado a la familia real de Qatar y posee participaciones en cadenas similares como los almacenes Harrods y Printemps.
