Cosentino, premiado por la Embajada Británica por su crecimiento en Reino Unido

24.02.2020 El pasado 20 de febrero, Grupo Cosentino obtuvo un reconocimiento en la I Edición de los premios UK-Spain Business Awards. Estas distinciones, promovidas por el Departamento de Comercio Internacional de la Embajada de Reino Unido en España, se han creado este año para celebrar la extensa relación comercial entre los dos países. Asimismo, esta iniciativa cuenta con la colaboración de la British Chamber of Commerce in Spain, la única organización empresarial hispano-británica.

La multinacional almeriense recibió un galardón en la categoría Growth In The UK. Ésta reconoce la apuesta de Cosentino por el mercado británico, a través de la implantación progresiva y creciente con activos propios. También, por el incremento tanto de su cifra de negocio y ventas en este mercado como en la generación de empleo. Con presencia propia desde 2002, Grupo Cosentino posee actualmente ocho instalaciones comerciales y de distribución en Reino Unido. Además, cuenta con siete Cosentino Centers o almacenes integrales, y un City o showroom en Londres. Por su parte, la multinacional cerró 2019 con una facturación en el mercado UK de 83,6 millones de euros (73,4 millones libras esterlinas), y una plantilla total de 115 empleados.

Acto de entrega de premios

El acto de entrega de premios tuvo lugar  en el Palacio de La Bolsa de Madrid. Estuvo presidido por el Embajador británico en España y Andorra, Hugh Elliott, y el representante para Comercio del Reino Unido en Europa, Andrew Mitchell. Ambos realizaron los discursos inaugurales y actuaron como anfitriones de la ceremonia. Además de Cosentino, se reconoció a otras empresas que han contribuido a consolidar el comercio entre ambos países, tales como GSK, Savills Aguirre Newman, Irizar o Grupo Sagardi, entre otras,.

Por parte de Cosentino, acudió al evento Álvaro de la Haza, vicepresidente ejecutivo y secretario general del grupo. Éste recogió el galardón de manos de Eduardo Barrachina, presidente de la Cámara de Comercio de España en Reino Unido. Por último, hay que reseñar que el evento contó también con la asistencia de Xiana Méndez, secretaria de Estado de Comercio. Méndez participó el mes pasado en la entrega de la Encomienda de la Cámara de España a Francisco Martínez-Cosentino, presidente de Grupo Cosentino.
