CONFEMADERA lanza una web para facilitar la aplicación de la diligencia debida

www.diligenciadebida.es, web desarrollada por CONFEMADERA, dispone de las herramientas necesarias para facilitar a las empresas el cumplimiento de esta normativa que nace con el fin de asegurar la legalidad en origen de la madera.

La Confederación Española de Empresarios de la Madera (CONFEMADERA) ha elaborado una página web, www.diligenciadebida.es, en el marco de la convocatoria INNORURAL financiada por el Ministerio de Agricultura, Alimentación y Medio Ambiente (MAGRAMA).

En ella las empresas podrán informarse sobre la aplicación del Sistema de Diligencia Debida que entrará en vigor a partir del 3 de marzo de 2013, a fin de asegurar la legalidad en origen de la madera utilizada, según el Reglamento de la Unión Europea nº 995/2010 del Parlamento Europeo y del Consejo de 20 de octubre.

Hasta la entrada en vigor de la normativa, la página web funcionará como una herramienta de información y formación en la que las empresas se podrán registrar para testar la validez del procedimiento, realizar autoevaluaciones del riesgo asociado de sus materias prima y hacer consultas a los técnicos de la Confederación sobre la aplicación de la nueva normativa, preparándose así para su entrada en vigor.

Además, el portal dispone de las herramientas necesarias para ser una experiencia piloto que evalúe la opción más viable y efectiva para las empresas en el cumplimiento de la normativa, adhiriéndose a una entidad de supervisión o elaborando un sistema propio.

CONFEMADERA quiere, con este proyecto, facilitar el cumplimiento de la normativa en las empresas del sector. Con esa finalidad, a principios de este año, la Confederación consiguió la supresión de la obligación del uso de cualquier lengua específica para el desarrollo de los Sistemas de Diligencia Debida, evitando a las empresas la aplicación de ese requisito que suponía una traba para poner en marcha estos procedimientos, cuyo objetivo es evitar el pequeño porcentaje de madera ilegal que entra en Europa.

Según Francis Huidobro, presidente de CONFEMADERA: Esta página web supone un gran avance para evitar el comercio ilegal de la madera, un problema con grandes implicaciones para el sector y que genera un gran impacto para la industria de la madera, ya que proyecta una imagen que no se corresponde con la actividad y el compromiso social de las empresas del sector, además de distorsionar el correcto funcionamiento del mercado. Desde CONFEMADERA trabajamos para que el sector de la madera sea un referente en la lucha contra la tala ilegal.
