El certamen portugués es una de las mayores plataformas de negocio para los profesionales peninsulares del sector del mobiliario, la iluminación, la tapicería y los artículos de casa para la exportación.

Este año, la feria se presenta más internacional que nunca. Del 23 al 27 de febrero, el certamen prevé contar con visitantes de más de 30 países, entre ellos Japón, Mónaco, Uruguay y Estonia, importantes mercados emergentes que llegan a la feria buscando nuevos partners.

Como es tradicional, España ocupará una posición preferente en la feria, al tener un importante peso tanto en el apartado de expositores como en el de visitantes. Y es que, pese a las dificultades económicas, Portugal sigue siendo unos de los principales socios comerciales de España en el sector. En 2010 la cifra de las exportaciones españolas en este sector generó  más de un millón de euros en Portugal, según los datos recogidos por el Icex.
 
Nuevamente, Expor Home acogerá este año varios eventos y espacios que contribuyen a dar mayor visibilidad a los principales actores de la industria citados en esta feria. Entre ellos estará el espacio Living Art, una puerta abierta a los jóvenes talentos de formación, diseño y emprendedores. La celebración de la 10ª edición del evento de Design, será otra de las novedades de este año. Además de esto, se presentará el Premio Design Export Home, una selección de piezas a concurso que evidencian el peso del componente diseño – creatividad del certamen.
