Franco Bulian, born in the Italian town of Udine in 1960, married and father of two children, is the new new Head Director of Catas (Italian certification institute and testing laboratory for wood and furniture).
Catas is a leading European testing laboratory, oriented to the wood furniture industry. Every year it performs more than 50,000 tests in the laboratories of San Giovanni al Natisone (Udine) and Lissone (Monza Brianza).
Bulian’s trajectory in Catas
Franco Bulian joined the Catas chemical department in 1987, assuming the position of deputy director a year later, as well as that of marketing director. Bulian is also a contract professor in the course «Materials and technologies of the furniture industry» at the University of Trieste and the author of numerous books and technical publications.
His long militancy in Catas has led him to be active part of its overall activities, as well as direct protagonist in its growth.
Taking office
«I am very proud to complete my path in Catas with this new and prestigious challenge,» said Franco Bulian. Who added: “I would like to thank the board of directors and the president Lucía Cristina Piu for their trust. I am sure that, together with the excellent Catas collaborators, their enthusiasm, their passion and their skills, we will be able to achieve new and ambitious goals. Sow with the renewed purpose of helping to improve the safety and performance of the products of this important industrial sector».
Andrea Giavon gives up his position
From now on, Bulian will take the place of Andrea Giavon, who is leaving high school to enjoy a new stage in his life. Giavon received the thanks of the board of directors and of all the employees and collaborators of the institute. They congratulated him for the enormous contribution made towards the growth of Catas, where he joined very young, in 1984. To fire Giavon, the employees and collaborators of Catas raised a sum that, at the will of the «former director» himself, was donated to the Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital in Udine for the fight against Covid-19.
