La compañía participó en la iniciativa ecológica promovida por WWF el pasado sábado, apagando los rótulos luminosos, ordenadores y aparatos eléctricos de todas sus oficinas en España, entre las 20:30 y las 21:30 horas.

Además de las acciones concretas de reducción de consumo eléctrico que se materializaron en una intensa campaña informativa dirigida a empleados y grupos de interés, y en el apagón del sábado, BSH España está realizando diversas acciones para ayudar a preservar el medioambiente, como su compromiso de reducir sus emisiones de CO2 mediante una disminución de consumo de kWh por tonelada de producto fabricado en sus factorías españolas de línea blanca, que alcance el 8 % en el año 2012.

La adhesión a esta campaña supone para BSH una actuación más en la que se materializa su compromiso en la protección del Medio Ambiente plasmada en su política medioambiental, cuyo desarrollo se traduce en un plan estratégico medioambiental cuatrienal que extiende su compromiso a lo largo de todas las actividades de la empresa y en toda la cadena de valor.

En los últimos cuatro años, BSH ha logrado ya la reducción de un 7 % de consumo de energía por tonelada fabricada en sus plantas productivas, es decir, ha dejado de consumir 20.630 MWh, lo que equivale a la emisión de 8.252 toneladas de CO2, la cantidad que 41.260 nogales son capaces de absorber en ese mismo periodo de tiempo.

La iniciativa de WWF implicó el pasado sábado a más de 1.000 millones de personas, entre gobiernos, ciudadanos y empresas. El objetivo fue alertar a la sociedad sobre los efectos del calentamiento global, a través de un apagón generalizado de luces y equipos eléctricos.
