Whirlpool España cocina con Aspanin en su 2º Community Day

La filial de Whirlpool en España ha celebrado por segundo año el Community Day, un día en el que los empleados dedican su jornada laboral al voluntariado.

26.09.2019 Los empleados de la sede de Whirlpool en Badalona han celebrado el segundo Community Day cocinando junto a la asociación Aspanin. Este año 2.700 empleados de 15 países han participado en esta iniciativa solidaria. El objetivo de la celebración era crear conciencia sobre el valor de los alimentos y cómo evitar su desperdicio.

Whirlpool Community Day

Treinta trabajadores de Whirlpool España cocinaron durante el día de la comunidad junto a usuarios de la asociación local Aspanin. Esta entidad social trabaja por la inclusión de personas con discapacidad intelectual, defendiendo sus derechos y promocionando todo tipo de servicios.

La empresa estadounidense, con la colaboración de la fundación Randstad, organizó una jornada culinaria en la que por equipos, trabajadores y usuarios de Aspanin, elaboraron un menú completo que fue valorado por un jurado. La jornada de voluntariado finalizó con la degustación de los platos.

Community Day a nivel mundial

Desde la central de Benton Harbor, en Michigan, hasta las diferentes filiales de la empresa en Brasil, Italia Rusia o Dubai realizaron esta jornada de voluntariado. Este año más de 2.700 empleados en 15 países han dedicado su jornada laboral a trabajar con 32 ONGs. Todos los Community Day se llevaron a cabo la misma semana creando lo que Whirlpool ha llamado la Community Week.
