Cata también ha incrementado su oferta por los activos de Fagor. Por su parte, la italiana Ariston se retira de la puja al no presentar ninguna propuesta de mejora y Ecomac se queda solo en su interés por Edesa.

Según información publicada en www.noticiasdegipuzkoa.com, a falta de 24 horas para la apertura por parte de los administradores concursales de Fagor Electrodomésticos de los sobres con las ofertas mejoradas por parte de los cuatro interesados en los activos de la cooperativa vasca, y después de salir a la luz la ampliación de la oferta de Cevital, ya se conoce también el incremento de la propuesta anterior realizada por el otro importante actor en la puja, Cata.

Cata ofrece más de 1.300 empleos y mejora su oferta por Fagor.

El grupo catalán, cuya oferta fue considerada la mejor por parte de los administradores concursales, no ha hecho cambios sustanciales (ya que abarcaba todo el perímetro de los activos de Fagor Electrodomésticos), salvo en el precio y en resolver cuestiones de carácter técnico que habían sido solicitadas. En concreto, Cata llega ahora a los 21,3 millones de euros de los 19,8 millones de partida, mientras mantiene 501 puestos de trabajo para el primer año, según fuentes próximas a la empresa barcelonesa citadas por Noticias de Gipuzkoa.

En las cuestiones técnicas, Cata, perteneciente a CNA Group, ha respondido a aspectos sobre la concesión de la licencia de la marca Edesa a un tercer adjudicatario de una unidad de producción, como podría ser el caso de la planta de Basauri, así como el acuerdo con la empresa Vaillant para comprar el 50% de la factoría de Bergara, al ser una joint venture.
