El Árbol es Vida ampliará el cinturón verde de Burgos

La Fundación Española de la Madera, FAE Burgos y Burmadera firman un convenio de colaboración para plantar árboles en la ciudad.

La Fundación Española de la Madera, la Confederación de Asociaciones Empresariales de Burgos (FAE Burgos) y la Asociación Provincial de Empresarios de Aserradores y Rematantes de la Provincia de Burgos (Burmadera) firmaron el pasado 27 de marzo un convenio de colaboración para la ampliación del cinturón verde de Burgos en el marco del programa El Árbol es Vida, una iniciativa cuya finalidad es plantar 10 millones de árboles por todo el país y promocionar la cultura del árbol.

La firma tuvo lugar en la Casa del Empresario entre el presidente de FAE, Miguel Ángel Benavente, el presidente de Burmadera, Arturo Rica, y el secretario general de la Fundación Española de la Madera, Francesc de Paula Pons.

El proyecto El Árbol es Vida, declarado Acontecimiento de Excepcional Interés Público, es una iniciativa de la Fundación Española de la Madera y tiene como finalidad principal promover el valor del árbol para la vida del planeta, para lo cual está prevista la plantación en España de 10 millones de árboles, siempre en función de las donaciones que se consigan para este programa. Además el proyecto tiene como objetivos asegurar la gestión forestal sostenible, contribuir a mitigar el cambio climático y consolidar un sector clave para la economía y el empleo.

A través de este acuerdo El Árbol es Vida se compromete a realizar acciones de plantación en el cinturón verde de Burgos, así como en otras áreas de la ciudad, promoviendo el empleo local en las actuaciones que se lleven a cabo. Para ello contará con la colaboración de FAE Burgos y Burmadera en la búsqueda de potenciales donantes, además de difundir y promocionar los valores del proyecto.

Con esta iniciativa se completa el convenio que FAE suscribió la pasada primavera con el Ayuntamiento para el patrocinio de la reforestación de diferentes hectáreas del cinturón verde.
