On the occasion of the 2013 edition of the Salone del Mobile (Milano), Banco has taken on a new role becoming the very core of the kitchen.
The initial Banco project was designed in 1994 by Luca Meda, who decided to concentrate the main cooking and washing functions in the free-standing structure, patented by Dada.
A strong blend of aluminium supports the fine lines of the worktop which define the unit. The base cabinets are hooked onto the worktop structure thereby leaving the units suspended. Moreover, it is fully customizable.
In 2013 Banco has changed its look and has redefined the contrasts between the materials, that now favour a monochromatic total white. The opaque white structure of the island supports the cabinets below the Banco unit, while the base cabinet completes the functionality of the kitchen. The worktop hides its solid profile in the aluminium structure
The Banco island is an icon of kitchen design and represents the most classical example of Dada’s avantgardist style.
