Indesit Company y General Electric Appliances han firmado un acuerdo mediante el cual el grupo de Fabriano expandirá la propiedad de su marca Hotpoint fuera de Europa.

El acuerdo firmado entre Indesit Company y General Electric Appliances tiene como objetivo expandir la propiedad de su marca Hotpoint fuera de Europa. GE tendrá la propiedad de la marca en Norteamérica y Sudamérica, mientras que Indesit Company la posee en Europa desde su adquisición a GDA, compañía con sede en Reino Unido, en el año 2002.

Expandir la propiedad de Hotpoint fortalece el porfolio de marcas de Indesit Company y hará posible mejorar la planificación del negocio de la compañía fuera de Europa, ya que puede contar con dos marcas (Hotpoint e Indesit) ya consolidadas alrededor del mundo.

El coste de la operación ha sido de cuatro millones de dólares, que serán pagados a lo largo de una serie de años. En el proceso del acuerdo, Indesit Company ha sido asesorada por el bufete de abogados neoyorquino Reinhardt LLP.
 
Actualmente, Hotpoint es la tercera marca más importante en Europa por cuota de mercado y es la responsable del 50% de las ventas del Grupo, también formado por Indesit y Scholtès.
