Electrolux exige compromisos ecológicos

Electrolux Major Appliances en Europa es una de las compañías de electrodomésticos que ha firmado una carta a la Unión Europea, instándole a un compromiso vinculante para lograr el objetivo de recudir el 20% los consumos de energía previsto para 2020.

La carta, dirigida al presidente del Consejo de Europa, Herman Van Rompuy, y a los jefes de estado y de gobierno de los estados miembros de la UE, exige abordar de manera plena el tema de ahorro de consumos de energía durante la próxima Cumbre Europea de la Energía, que se celebrará en Bruselas el próximo 4 de febrero.

Según la carta, Europa no alcanzará casi con seguridad su objetivo de ahorro energético para 2020 a menos que realice un esfuerzo extra de manera inmediata. La eficiencia energética, por tanto, es la prioridad número uno dentro de la lista de acciones de Europa en el marco de la Estrategia Energética 2020. La carta subraya la importancia de que la propia Cumbre fomente acciones para que las empresas adopten medidas de ahorro energético a través de la UE.
 
La carta afirma que es imprescindible un compromiso vinculante para lograr el objetivo de ahorro energético para 2020 para lograr que la UE se posicione como líder mundial en el cambio hacia una economía sostenible y con eficiencia de recursos.
