A raíz del terremoto de Haití, Whirlpool Corporation y Whirlpool Latin America se han sumado a los esfuerzos de apoyo mediante donaciones a la Cruz Roja Americana y a Habitat for Humanity.

Los empleados de Whirlpool, tanto en América Latina como en otros países, están realizando aportaciones monetarias a estas organizaciones. La Fundación Whirlpool igualará, como hace en otras ocasiones, las donaciones realizadas por los trabajadores norteamericanos de la compañía.

La Cruz Roja Americana – Haití Relief and Development – destinará estos fondos a las  necesidades más inmediatas en Haití, como alimentos, agua, refugio temporal, servicios médicos y apoyo emocional. Habitat for Humanity International los destinará a ayudar a las familias más pobres con kits de refugio, tareas de limpieza, refugios temporales en un primer momento y hogares permanentes.
