Las ventas de muebles alcanzaron los 2.660 millones de euros en 2016, un 7,7% más que en 2015. En concreto, las de muebles de cocina aumentaron un 6,3%, hasta los 269 millones de euros

08.09.2017 El mercado minorista de muebles facturó 2.660 millones de euros en 2016, un 7,7% más que el año anterior en que aumentó un 6,2%, según datos del Observatorio Sectorial DBK de Informa regogidos por Expansión. Esta evolución, explica Informa, se ha producido por el aumento del gasto privado, el crecimiento del mercado de la vivienda y el incremento de la inversión empresarial.

El segmento de mueble de hogar fue el que mayor crecimiento experimentó, con 1.990 millones de euros, un 8% más que en 2015. Por su parte, el segmento de mueble de cocina aumentó un 6,3%, hasta los 269 millones de euros, cifra similar a la alcanzada por las ventas de mueble de oficina, las cuales se incrementaron un 7,6%.

Los puntos de venta especializados generaron el 83% del valor total del mercado en 2016, con una cifra de 2.215 millones de euros, mientras, el 17% restante correspondió a grandes almacenes, hipermercados y grandes superficies de bricolaje.

A corto y medio plazo el mercado mantendrá la tendencia de crecimiento, impulsado por el positivo comportamiento de la demanda de las familias y las empresas, de acuerdo a las previsiones de los expertos de Informa. Así, estiman una tasa de variación de alrededor del 6% para el cierre de 2017, hasta superar los 2.800 millones de euros.

Menos comercios especializados
A finales de 2016 estaban operativos alrededor de los 6.000 puntos de venta especializados en la comercialización minorista de muebles, incluyendo tiendas independientes y puntos de venta pertenecientes a cadenas.Pese a concentrar el mayor porcentaje de ventas, el número de comercios especializados ha descendido en los últimos años, según Informa, debido a un escenario de fuerte rivalidad en precio que ha obligado al cierre de comercios independientes y de pequeño tamaño. Por el contrario, los principales operadores han consolidado su posición en el mercado mediante la apertura de nuevos puntos de venta y el cierre de otros en ubicaciones no rentables.

Los cinco primeros operadores del sector reunieron en 2016 el 54% del valor total de las ventas minoristas de muebles, casi un punto porcentual más que en 2015. Si se computan los 10 primeros competidores, la participación conjunta ascendió al 70% del mercado.
