La 59º Edición de la Feria del Mueble de Yecla, en mayo del 2021

07.07.2020 La 59º Edición de la Feria del Mueble de Yecla (FMY), prevista inicialmente del 19 al 22 de mayo de 2020, se aplazó indefinidamente por la alerta sanitaria del Covid-19. La organización de la feria define este acontecimiento como algo inédito en los 59 años de historia de la feria. Ahora, el Comité Ejecutivo de la FMY, tras la reunión celebrada la pasada semana, ha decidido que el evento se celebrará finalmente del 18 al 21 de mayo de 2021. Así lo manifiesta el comunicado publicado en la página web de la feria.

La celebración se traslada directamente al próximo año por motivos de seguridad. Debido a los posibles rebrotes de coronavirus que se puedan dar tras los meses posteriores al verano. Y también para evitar toda la incertidumbre que, en estos momentos, el virus genera en la sociedad y en el sector del mueble, tal como afirma el comunicado.

En la misma reunión también se estableció que, aunque en el 2020 no haya podido celebrarse la FMY, la edición que se llevará a cabo en 2021 será la 59º. Ya se ha comenzado a trabajar en ella, afirma Inmaculada Hernández, directora de la FMY. Hernández también asegura que el Comité Organizador es consciente de que la Feria del Mueble de Yecla es uno de los eventos más importantes del sector a nivel nacional. Y también una cita sectorial que pone el nombre de la Región de Murcia y de Yecla en el panorama internacional.

En este sentido, hay que remarcar que, según los organizadores, en la Región de Murcia nada menos que 1.127 empresas integran el sector del mueble. Éstas contribuyen a la cifra de negocio a nivel nacional con un nada despreciable 7,8%. Asimismo, suponen el 7% del empleo industrial de la Comunidad Autónoma. Por otra parte, la exportación de muebles en España llegó a los 2.318 millones de euros en 2019, un 4,7% más que el año anterior. Y Murcia, en particular, incrementó sus exportaciones de muebles un 9,2% (con casi 81 millones en total) gracias al esfuerzo de sus pymes.
